I have always had a curious interest in the ability of an object to evoke a memory of shared experiences. My work is deeply rooted in the historical tradition of functional ceramics. The surface of each piece is evolving into a combination of symbols, texture, or transfer images applied in layers of slip and stains under the glazed surface. I feel some of my strongest connections with my work and the people in my life are not understood w/ a quick glance… but through small, daily interactions… building a shared history strengthening over time.
