Chamillia Hervey is a ceramic artist and arts educator based in North Texas. Born and raised in Omaha, NE, she attended the University of Nebraska at Omaha, earning a Bachelor's degree in Studio Art. She also holds a Masters in Education Administration. It was during her last semester of undergrad at UNO where she was first introduced to ceramics as an art medium. Realizing her natural ability working with and understanding the material, clay quickly became the main focus of her art practice. For the past 16 years, ceramics has been at the center of her professional career. In addition to her work as a studio artist, Chamillia is an arts educator at Lake Ridge High School in Mansfield, TX. She is also co-founder of Three23 Design Studio in which she works collaboratively alongside friend and business partner Lindsay Cisco.

Lindsay Cisco is a ceramic artist and arts educator based in Omaha, Nebraska. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art and a Master of Science in Secondary Education from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. Her passion for ceramics began during a study abroad experience in Japan, where she first immersed herself in the medium 20 years ago. Alongside her studio practice, Lindsay is an art educator at Central High School. She also collaborates with her friend and business partner, Chamillia Hervey, through their shared venture, Three23 Design Studio.

Artist Statement for Lindsay Cisco:
My work in clay is created in the slow, meditative process of hand building. I create functional ware and sculptural forms using coiling, pinching, and slab building techniques. I find beauty in imperfections and embrace the marks of the making process- finger impressions, subtle warps, and visible seams. These become essential parts of the piece to be used or simply observed.
My forms are often built as multiples, and stacking is an important part of my work. I enjoy building relationships between pieces that connect to one another through variation, repetition, balance, and space.
Whether I am making a vessel to be used or a sculpture to contemplate, my goal is to slow myself and the viewer down to create a quiet experience, evident of the hands, the process, and a moment shared.
