Makenzie Raymundo

Makenzie Raymundo is a mixed media artist living and working in Omaha, NE. Originally from Gretna, NE, Raymundo earned her B.F.A. in Art Education with a specialization in Ceramics from the University of South Dakota in 2020. Raymundo then advanced to graduate school where she earned her M.F.A. in Ceramics from Kansas State University in 2023, where she maintained a Graduate Teaching Assistantship. Raymundo’s work has been exhibited nationally and internationally. Including her first international solo exhibition at Galería Omar Alonzo in Puerto Vallarta Mexico in January of 2024.

Artist Statement: 

Raymundo’s practice centers on the surface as a site of meditative labor, where repetition becomes both a process and a form of reflection. Through layering, mark-making, and accumulation, she engages in a slow, deliberate exploration of material and time. Each gesture builds upon the last, creating textured fields that hold evidence of endurance, presence, and transformation.
